Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) — A single-letter variation in a person’s DNA. SNP testing is the foundation of most consumer genetic tests (ancestry, pharmacogenomics, common-variant disease risk). “SNP/Whole Genome” panels combine targeted SNP analysis with broader sequencing.
